Biathlon Venues

Whiskey Flat, Mount Hotham, Vic

Australia’s #1 Female Biathlete (and our Ambassador) Jill Colebourn, looking cool with Curtis @ the Whiskey Flat range.

The tracks and rifle range at Whiskey Flat, Mount Hotham, are currently Australia’s only complete Biathlon venue. The Australian Biathlon Team train here and in 2019, the venue hosted the South Korean team, including Anna Frolina, IBU World Champion Relay gold medallist (as Anna Boulygina) in 2009. Work on the venue is ongoing to complete the roller-ski circuit into the rifle range, to allow summer biathlon competition. Our partner Australian Biathlon is the only entity licensed by Victoria Police to use the rifle range.

Perisher Valley, NSW

The Perisher Valley hosts the NSW Biathlon Summer Biathlon Championships, utilising a laser rifle-range.

Roller-Biathlon Venues

SSAA Wodonga, Vic

The roller-ski venue and range at Wodonga is being developed in order to allow roller-skiing onto the rifle range, led by the excellent work of Bob Cranage at our partners Mountain Sports. Handily placed near the Southern Alps and already providing a great surface for roller-skiing and with a small-bore range in-situ, the venue is forecast to be an excellent and accessible summer biathlon venue a short drive from Albury Airfield.

Nordic Skiing Venues

Falls Creek, Vic

Home of the Kangaroo Hoppet, part of the World Loppet series, Falls Creek provides wonderful long and fast flats, some technical curves and drops and a horribly challenging climb, appropriately named The Paralyser, which seems to go on forever; particularly to the novice.
